Search in a specific location

How it works

in:anywhere searches all of Gmail, Spam and Trash included. in:archive searches archived messages, in:snoozed those that are snoozed.

Examples

• in:anywhere movieOpen in Gmail ↗

"movie" everywhere, Spam and Trash included.

• in:archive payment reminderOpen in Gmail ↗

  Archived payment reminders.

• in:snoozed birthday reminderOpen in Gmail ↗

  Snoozed birthday reminders.

What it does well

• in:anywhere finds a message you thought was lost, because it sits in Spam or Trash.
• in:archive finds what you archived and is no longer in the inbox.

What it does badly

• The help page details only these three values. It doesn't list the other locations (inbox, sent, drafts...).Not documented by Google · Gmail Help: search operators
